Behind the Veil

You hide the crescent of your face behind the veil,
And let your eyes speak words no lips could tell.
Amid the desert vast, beneath the burning sun,
I lose myself in emerald pools—two eyes as one.
The veil does not conceal the beauty that you bear;
It turns your hidden loveliness to dreams suspended there.
Each glance becomes a tale that words can never say,
Each silence holds a story waiting for the day.
I need not see your face in all its tender grace,
For in your eyes alone, my heart has found its place.
Some beauty grows more wondrous, wrapped in mystery,
When kept in secret clouds for one heart's eyes to see.
And should the wind one day, with careless fingers, play
Upon the gentle veil that veils your face away,
Let your eyes remain behind, serene and softly bright—
Like the last star in heaven that will not fade from sight.
And if they ask me when my love first found its way,
What moment in this mortal world began that day,
I'll say: the moment when your eyes looked down at me—
Behind the veil, I dreamed, and dreamed eternally.

Em giấu nửa vầng trăng sau lớp vải,
Để đôi mắt còn lại nói thay lời.
Giữa sa mạc mênh mang màu nắng cháy,
Anh lạc vào hai hồ nước xanh ngời.
Tấm mạng ấy không che đi vẻ đẹp,
Chỉ khiến dung nhan hóa một giấc mơ.
Mỗi ánh mắt, một điều chưa nói hết,
Mỗi im lặng, một câu chuyện đợi chờ.
Anh chẳng cần nhìn thấy em trọn vẹn,
Bởi đôi mắt đã đủ khiến tim say.
Có những nét đẹp càng thêm huyền bí
Khi được giữ riêng sau một làn mây.
Nếu một ngày gió vô tình lay nhẹ
Tấm mạng mềm trên gương mặt dịu dàng,
Xin hãy để đôi mắt em ở lại—
Như vì sao cuối trời chẳng chịu tàn.
Và nếu hỏi tình yêu anh bắt đầu
Từ khoảnh khắc nào giữa cõi nhân gian,
Anh sẽ nói: từ đôi mắt em nhìn xuống,
Sau tấm mạng che, anh mãi mơ màng.
